Terms of use
The terms for using crawlwren.com and the Crawlwren tools.
Last updated: Oct 9, 2026
Crawlwren is a product of Chordio, Inc. These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) govern crawlwren.com and the Crawlwren data tools (the “tools”). In them, “Crawlwren”, “we” and “us” mean Chordio, Inc.; “you” means the person or organisation using the site or the tools. By using the site or a tool you agree to these Terms. How we handle personal information is described in our privacy notice.
In plain terms: the tools turn official open data into clean tables. You buy and run them on Apify under Apify’s terms. The data keeps its original licence, so follow the attribution. Government sources can be wrong, late or unavailable, so check anything important against the official source.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 and able to form a binding contract. If you use the tools for an organisation, you confirm you’re authorised to bind it to these Terms, and “you” includes that organisation.
2. The tools run on Apify
The tools are listed, sold and run on the Apify platform. Your Apify account, payments, billing, refunds, run limits and run data are governed by the Apify terms and Apify privacy policy, which apply alongside these Terms. Prices are per event and shown on each tool’s Apify page. You pay only for the events described there, and you can set a maximum cost per run in Apify.
3. The data and its licences
The tools collect public records from official open-data sources and keep each record’s original licence in its licence field. The data belongs to its publishers, not to us, and we aren’t affiliated with them. You’re responsible for following each source’s licence when you use or republish the data, including its attribution requirements. Current sources and licences:
| Source | Licence |
|---|---|
| UK Contracts Finder, Find a Tender | Open Government Licence v3.0 |
| TED (EU) | EU reuse decision 2011/833/EU |
| EU Funding & Tenders Portal | CC BY 4.0 (Commission reuse policy) |
| SAM.gov | US government work (public domain) |
| GLEIF | CC0 1.0 |
| CanadaBuys | Open Government Licence – Canada |
| BOAMP (France) | Licence Ouverte 2.0 |
| TenderNed (Netherlands) | CC0 |
| AusTender (Australia) | CC BY 3.0 AU |
| World Bank (optional) | CC BY 4.0 |
Each record’s licence field is authoritative and may carry more detail, such as required attribution text and the changes we made.
4. Personal data in the results
The tools are built to minimise personal data: buyer contact details are removed, suppliers that appear to be individuals are withheld, and SAM.gov contacts are opt-in. You agree not to use the tools or their results to identify, profile, contact or market to individuals. If you turn on SAM.gov contacts, you’re responsible for using them lawfully.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the tools or data in breach of any law, a source’s licence or terms, or the Apify acceptable use policy;
- change the tools’ pacing, User-Agent or other settings to overload a source, hide who is fetching, or get around a source’s limits or blocks;
- present results as official publications or as endorsed by a publisher or by us;
- resell or redistribute the tools themselves, or reverse engineer them except as the law allows; or
- interfere with the site, the tools or Apify’s platform.
6. Data publishers and opt-out
Our tools identify themselves as CrawlwrenBot and fetch politely. If you run a source and want us to stop or slow down, see CrawlwrenBot or email [email protected].
7. No warranty
The site, the tools and the data are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. Government and other sources can be incomplete, wrong, delayed, changed or unavailable, and they can change their formats or terms at any time; a tool may then return fewer results or stop working until we update it. We don’t warrant that the tools will run without error, that results will be accurate, complete or current, or that any source will remain available. Results aren’t legal, financial, procurement or compliance advice. Check anything important against the official source.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Chordio, Inc. will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, revenue, bids or goodwill, arising out of or related to the site, the tools, the data or these Terms, even if advised of the possibility. Our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to them will not exceed the greater of (a) the amounts you paid for the tools in the 12 months before the claim and (b) one hundred US dollars (US $100).
9. Your indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Chordio, Inc. and its officers, directors, employees and agents from any claim, loss, liability or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your breach of a source’s licence, or your use of the results.
10. Feedback
If you send us feedback or ideas about the site or the tools, we may use them without restriction or obligation to you.
11. Changes and availability
We may change, suspend or retire a tool or a source, and update these Terms; the date at the top will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the current version.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
Informal resolution first. If you have a dispute with us, contact [email protected] first; we’ll try to resolve it informally.
Courts. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms, the site or the tools that we can’t resolve informally will be resolved exclusively in the state and federal courts located in King County, Washington, and you and Chordio, Inc. each consent to their jurisdiction and venue, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court.
Jury and class-action waiver. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you and Chordio, Inc. each waive any right to a jury trial and to take part in a class, collective or representative action. If this waiver is unenforceable for a particular dispute, it is severed for that dispute and the rest of these Terms remain in effect.
Consumers with mandatory rights. If you’re a consumer in a jurisdiction whose law gives you rights, protections or a forum that can’t be waived by contract (for example the EU or UK), nothing in these Terms takes them away, and this section applies only to the extent that law allows.
13. General
These Terms, with the privacy notice and the Apify terms that apply to your account, are the entire agreement between you and us about the site and the tools. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision isn’t a waiver. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them to an affiliate or successor, including in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
