Privacy notice

Crawlwren is a product of Chordio, Inc. In this notice, “Crawlwren”, “we” and “us” mean Chordio, Inc.; “you” means a visitor to crawlwren.com, someone who emails us, or someone who uses a Crawlwren tool.

In plain terms: this website sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Our tools run on Apify, which handles your account, billing and runs under its own privacy policy. Our tools don’t send your inputs or results to us. The tools collect public records from official sources and leave out personal contact details. We don’t sell personal information.

1. What we collect

Website visits. crawlwren.com is a static site. It sets no cookies, uses no analytics or advertising, and loads no third-party scripts or fonts. Our host, Cloudflare, processes standard request data (such as IP address, user agent, requested page and time) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse, under the Cloudflare privacy policy.

Email. If you write to [email protected], we receive your email address, your message and anything you include. Mail to that address is routed by Cloudflare Email Routing to our mailbox.

Using the tools. Crawlwren tools are sold and run on the Apify platform. Apify Technologies s.r.o. handles your Apify account, payments, run inputs, results and logs under the Apify privacy policy and Apify terms. As the tools’ developer, Apify may give us information about runs of our tools, such as usage and billing figures and error reports. Our tools don’t send your inputs or results to us. If you share a run or its data with us for support, we use it only to help you.

Public records the tools collect. The tools fetch public records from official open-data sources (see our terms). By design they keep personal data out of results:

• Tender tools don’t output buyer contact names, email addresses or phone numbers. Email addresses and labelled phone numbers and contacts inside free text are replaced. SAM.gov contact fields are included only if you turn them on.
• Suppliers that appear to be individuals (sole traders, individual consultants) are withheld as “[individual supplier]”.
• GLEIF records describe legal entities; sole proprietors are withheld by default.

Free text written by public bodies can still occasionally contain a name. If you find your personal information in a result, email us and we’ll fix the tool so it’s removed.

2. How we use it, and our legal basis

• To deliver and secure the website (legitimate interests).
• To answer your email and support requests (legitimate interests, or steps you ask us to take before a contract).
• To operate, support and improve the tools, using the usage and error information Apify provides (legitimate interests).
• To comply with law and protect our rights and others’ (legal obligation, legitimate interests).

3. Who we share it with

We don’t sell or “share” personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA, and we don’t use it for advertising. We disclose it only to:

• Service providers who act for us: Cloudflare (website hosting, email routing), Apify (tool platform; it is also an independent controller of your Apify account data) and our email provider.
• Business transfers: a successor or counterparty in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganisation or sale of assets.
• Legal requirements: when we believe in good faith that disclosure is needed to comply with law or legal process, protect our rights or property, prevent fraud, or protect anyone’s safety.
• With your consent or at your direction.

4. How long we keep it

We keep emails for as long as needed to handle your request and for our records afterwards, and we delete them when they’re no longer needed, unless we must keep them for a legal obligation, dispute or security reason. Cloudflare and Apify keep their own logs under their own retention practices.

5. Your choices and rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, or object to how we use it, by emailing [email protected]. For your Apify account and run data, use Apify’s settings or contact Apify.

California residents. Under the CCPA you may request to know, delete and correct personal information, and you won’t be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We don’t sell or share personal information, including that of anyone under 16. You can use an authorised agent; we may ask you to verify your identity.

EU and UK residents. Chordio, Inc. is the controller of the personal information described here (Apify is the controller of your Apify account data). You have the rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict and object, to data portability, to withdraw consent where we rely on it, and to complain to your data-protection supervisory authority.

6. International transfers

We and our service providers process data in the United States and other countries. Where transfer safeguards are required, we rely on mechanisms such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (and UK extension) for participating providers, standard contractual clauses, and our providers’ data-processing terms.

7. Children

Crawlwren is for businesses and developers and isn’t directed to anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures, such as access controls and least privilege, to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure, and email in particular isn’t, so please don’t send us sensitive information.

9. Changes

We may update this notice; the date at the top will change when we do.
